It is Halloween eve onboard the Scientific Research Vessel: Icarus—a pioneer in Weyland-Yutani weapons research. As the crew excitedly prepares for its annual Halloween party, a brief respite from arduous research, company reps unexpectedly board their ship and assign them a new research venture—one with more teeth than they are used to...

This original one-shot was written as a fun, horror-filled Halloween adventure for my personal small group of players. The story plays off of canon elements in the Alien universe, but it is an original, non-canon creation. This was one of the first Alien RPG adventures I ran for my
players, and I wanted to give them a true Alien experience complete with classic Xenomorphs, facehuggers, and impossible odds.

Part of the beauty of the Alien universe is its ability to present unseen horrors in a way that is truly frightening without being overly gratuitous. This was a challenge I faced while composing my first original one-shot adventure—to present my players with just enough for a scare, but not so much gore just for shock value. I made sure to prepare for a number of possible scenarios and present my players with enough options and freedom so as to not railroad them into one predetermined path.

A good game master presents her players with conflict and opportunities—the players tell the story.
